Team USA has secured one men’s spot for Tokyo with a win at the 2019 World Championships. The women qualified one spot at the 2019 Pan American Games, which will secure USA a spot in the mixed team event. 

Three-time Olympic medalist Brady Ellison and 17-year-old Casey Kaufhold became the first members of the U.S. Olympic archery team at Olympic Trials in early June.

At the Final World Qualification Tournament in Paris in late June, the U.S. qualified a men's and women's team for Tokyo. The U.S. men's team of Ellison, 2012 Olympian Jacob Wukie and Jack Williams won gold in Paris, defeating Indonesia in the final. The women's team of Kaufhold, 2016 Olympian Mackenzie Brown and 18-year-old Jennifer Mucino-Fernandez took silver, falling to Mexico.
