Bienvenue, athletes!

With the 2024 Paris Olympic Games on the horizon, athletes from around the world have arrived in the City of Light, and social media is aflutter with snippets from the Olympic Village. Over 14,000 athletes and coaches are anticipating calling the Olympic Village home for the duration of their stay at the Games. 

As the surf competition takes place in Tahiti, nearly 10,000 miles away from Paris, the surfers are the first athletes to ever live on a floating Olympic Village.

U.S. women's gymnastics team

The U.S. gymnastics team scored a perfect 10 on their Olympic Village selfie, featuring Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles and Hezly Rivera.

The New Zealand men's field hockey team had an extra special welcome to the Olympic Village with a traditional haka, a traditional Māori performance that involves chanting, hand movements, facial expressions, and stamping.

Two-time Olympic champion Andy Murray snapped a picture with his favorite athlete, and most likely the favorite to grab gold at Olympic tennis tournament, Spain's Carlos Alcaraz.
