The United States announced in June the U.S. Olympic beach volleyball team. The U.S. qualified two teams for both the men's and women's events, the maximum number of teams the U.S. could qualify.
On the women's side, Kelly Cheng (formerly Claes) and Sara Hughes have qualified for the Olympics as the top duo for Team USA, while they will be joined by Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss. Cheng returns to the Games after competing in Tokyo and failing to earn a medal with then-partner Sarah Sponcil. Tokyo Olympic champions April Ross and Alix Klineman are just returning to the tour after becoming mothers last year, and won't be competing in Paris.
Team USA men's beach volleyball teams are led by the tandem Andy Benesh and Miles Partain, currently ranked No. 4 in the world. The pair most recently finished third at the Elite16 tournament in Ostrava. Former NBA player Chase Budinger and partner Miles Evans are the second U.S. men's team to qualify. The pair started playing together in 2023 and have since shot up the beach volleyball rankings.
The pairings set to compete in Paris are as follows:
Women
Kelly Cheng - Sara Hughes
Taryn Kloth - Kristen Nuss
Men
Andy Benesh - Miles Partain
Miles Evans - Chase Budinger
