What to know about boxing at the 2024 Paris Olympics
There will be 13 different weight classes (seven for men, six for women) contested at the Paris Olympics. The action will begin at the North Paris Arena before shifting to Roland-Garros, home of the French Open and the Olympic tennis competition, for the finals.
The U.S. men are seeking their first gold medal since 2004, while the U.S. women are in search of their first since 2016. This year the United States will bring a team of eight boxers, all rookies, to Paris. Names to know include featherweight boxer Jahmal Harvey, who won a world title in 2021 to end a 14-year drought for the U.S. men.
