How has Karsten Warholm done in 2024?

Karsten Warholm has had a dominant start to the season in 2024. He kicked off the season at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, where he took home silver in the 400m short track. At the Trond Mohn Games he took gold in the 300m hurdles, followed by the silver medal in the Diamond League Oslo Bislett Games in the 400m hurdles in front of his home crowd. At the European Athletics Championships, Warholm not only took gold in the 400m hurdles, but also set a championship record at 46.98 seconds, one second off his own world record.

 

Who are Karsten Warholm’s biggest competitors?

Karsten Warholm’s biggest competitors will be Tokyo silver medalist Rai Benjamin of the United States, and Tokyo bronze medalist Alison dos Santos of Brazil. Dos Santos, the 2022 World Champion, has had a strong 2024 season so far, defeating Warholm at the Oslo Bislett Games in May. Benjamin won the 2023 Diamond League with a time of 46.39 seconds, keeping close to Warholm’s record.

Who does Karsten Warholm train with?

Karsten Warholm trains with coach Leif Olav Alnes, who he describes as his best friend. He often trains six to eight hours a day, both in the cold in Norway and at his training camp in Tenerife, Spain.
