Maddie Mastro began snowboarding at age 6 on a pink board, driving to the mountains in SoCal with her family in an RV. Since her breakout 2015-16 season, the former teenage phenom has been a star of women's halfpipe. At 18 years old, she became the first woman to land a double crippler, and she's only continued to push herself in recent years, showing out against some of the greatest names in the sport.

So far Mastro, who has 18 World Cup podiums and four X Games medals, has made two Olympic appearances. She finished 12th in her debut at the 2018 PyeongChang Games (just nine days before turning 18) and was 13th at the 2022 Beijing Games.

After winning last season's World Cup title in women's halfpipe, Mastro is in prime position to earn her first Olympic medal. It's the one podium of her career that seems to be the most elusive, but with the double cork 1080 and the wave of confidence she's riding into the 2025-26 season, this could be the year she finally earns a spot on the Olympic podium.

Making her Olympic debut shortly before her 18th birthday, she finished 12th in women's halfpipe.

In 2019, Mastro claimed bronze at the 2019 World Championships, later becoming the first woman in history to land a double crippler en route to her victory at the 2019 Burton U.S. Open.
