Simone Biles seeks a sixth-straight Team USA gold in the women’s gymnastics all-around, U.S. rowing grinds in Vaires-sur-Marne to redeem a Tokyo medal shutout, and U.S. women's basketball takes on Belgium.

Elsewhere, American swimmers stars Katie Ledecky, Kate Douglass and Regan Smith pack the pool, and Paris individual fencing gold medalist Lee Kiefer competes in the team foil event.

Below, a full breakdown of the top events and athletes to watch on Day 6.

Simone Biles is back and once again the favorite in the all-around, looking to pick up where she left off in Rio after missing the event in Tokyo.

The 27-year-old captured her sixth world title in the discipline last year — tied for most all-time, men's or women's — and clinched a record ninth national all-around title at U.S. championships in June.

Biles performed strong in Paris qualifications, topping two of the four apparatuses in floor and vault. She ranked ninth on uneven bars and second behind China's Zhou Yaqin on beam.

She'll be tested by Brazilian Rebeca Andrade, runner-up to Biles at 2023 Worlds and silver medalist in Tokyo, as well as teammate and defending Olympic champion Suni Lee.

If Biles wins, she'll become the second-oldest women's all-around gold medalist behind Helsinki 1952's Maria Gorokhovskaya.

Night 6 of swimming features four medal events.

Katie Ledecky and the Americans will attempt to upset Australia in the women's 4x200m freestyle relay, but it's a tall task. Australia has the two fastest swimmers ever at the discipline in Mollie O’Callaghan and Ariarne Titmus, and also won the world title in 2023 by breaking its own world record. The U.S., meanwhile, won the 2022 world title and finished runner-up to the Aussies at 2023 Worlds.

Both China and Canada are also in the mix; China as the defending gold medalist, and Canada with teenage phenom Summer McIntosh, who already has a gold and silver in Paris.

McIntosh is the favorite in the women's 200m butterfly, having won both the 2022 and 2023 world titles. American Regan Smith, who won silver Tuesday in the 100m backstroke, should be her top challenger.

Other names to look out for: Olympic record-holder Zhang Yufei of China, 2023 world runner-up Elizabeth Dekkers of Australia, and 17-year-old American Alex Shackell, whose dad Nick swam for Great Britain at the 1996 Atlanta Games.

The women's 200m breaststroke features Americans Kate Douglass and Lilly King, who finished first and sixth overall in Wednesday's semifinals. Defending gold medalist and 2023 world champion Tatjana Smith of South Africa is the favorite.

Two-time Olympic 200m backstroke medalist Ryan Murphy placed 10th overall in the semis on Wednesday, missing Thursday's final. Hungarian Hubert Kos, the 2023 world champion, topped the semis and is favored to take the final.

The U.S. has a real shot to make the podium in the men's four after taking silver at last year's world championships and winning World Cup II in May.

In Sunday's qualifying, the Americans won their heat and posted the second-fastest time overall behind Heat 1 winner New Zealand. They also bested reigning two-time world champion Great Britain.

Their boat's comprised of Tokyo fifth-place finisher Michael Grady and three oarsmen from the Tokyo fourth-place-finishing eight crew: bowman Nick Mead, Justin Best and stroke Liam Corrigan.

The American women also made Final A in the four, but did so by winning the repechage. The podium's a longshot, however they did finish third at World Cup II.

Another U.S. medal opportunity comes in the men's double sculls. Duo Sorin Koszyk and Ben Davison weren't expected to contend for the podium, however they posted the third-fastest time in the semis.

In the women's double sculls, Romania’s Ancuta Bodnar and Simona Radis have the credentials to cruise as defending Olympic gold medalists and reigning two-time world champions.

Americans Kristi Wagner and Sophia Vitas, 2023 world bronze medalists, were expected to contend but finished fifth in their semifinal, missing the A final.

Round 1 of the men's competition tees off at Le Golf National's Albatross Course, with the women's competition to follow next week.

The field will play four rounds through Sunday, and there is no cut, meaning all 60 golfers will progress to the weekend rounds.

Scottie Scheffler appeared to be the clear favorite back in April after capturing a second Masters title. But then Xander Schauffele won two majors: the first of his career at the PGA Championship in May, and the Open Championship in July.

Schauffele is the defending Olympic gold medalist. He beat Slovankian Rory Sabbatini by one stroke in Tokyo to become the first American since 1900 to win an Olympic golf title.

Scheffler and Schauffele enter Paris as the respective No. 1- and No 2-ranked golfers in the world.

Wyndham Clark, last year's U.S. Open champion, and two-time major champion Collin Morikawa round out the U.S. team. They rank fifth and sixth entering competition.

Also in the mix: four-time major champion Rory McIlroy, representing Ireland; 2024 Masters runner-up Ludvig Aberg of Sweden; and Norway's Viktor Hovland, who led Europe to a 2023 Ryder Cup win. The trio ranks third, fourth and seventh.

The U.S. women's basketball team faces 2023 EuroBasket champion Belgium in its second game of group play after handling Tokyo silver medalist Japan 102-76 on Monday.

Belgium lost to Japan by one in the Tokyo quarterfinals, and gave the U.S. trouble in its opening game of this year's Olympic Qualifying Tournament, losing via buzzer-beater, 81-79.

Leading the Belgian Cats is 2019 WNBA Finals MVP Emma Meesseman, who put up 25 points against Germany in their opener.

Team USA's A'ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart scored 24 and 22 points in their game against Japan, while Kelsey Plum, Sabrina Ionescu and Brittney Griner each added 11. Ionescu also hit three three-pointers.

Lee Kiefer, who successfully defended her individual foil gold in Paris, leads the U.S. women into the team event in what could be her final Olympic competition.

The U.S. has reached the semifinals or better at the last five world championships and is poised to earn its second-ever Olympic medal in this event after a silver at the 2008 Beijing Games.

Italy is the favorite as reigning world champion. It won bronze in Tokyo and has made eight Olympic podiums.
