Para track and field
Some of Team USA's top para track and field stars will be on display on Day 6 in Paris, including three men who've already draped themselves in gold at these Games.
After a thrilling finish in the men's 100m T63 earned Ezra Frech his first Paralympic gold medal Monday, the USC Trojan will compete in his signature event, the high jump, in search of more. Frech has called his shot, literally counting down the days on social media "until I win Paralympic gold" in the high jump.
Frech's coach, Roderick Townsend, who picked up Paralympic gold No. 4 of his great career in the high jump T47 Sunday, will also be in action Tuesday in the long jump T47.
Finally, Jaydin Blackwell will run for more history after lighting up the Paris track with a world record in the men's 100m T38 on Saturday. Blackwell will race the 400m T38, where he'll once again come up against countryman Ryan Medrano, who took silver in Blackwell's record-setting sprint.
Wheelchair basketball
The United States takes on host nation France in the quarterfinals of the men's wheelchair basketball tournament as heavy favorites to advance to the semis.
Team USA finished preliminary-round play with a perfect 3-0 record to win Group B. Conversely, France failed to win any of its prelim games, losing by a combined point difference of -58, the lowest of any team. However, the Americans will have to navigate what is sure to be a lively and partisan crowd in Bercy Arena.
"It's exceptional to have this crowd with us," France's Soufyane Mehiaoui said after the conclusion of group play. "We want to play good for our supporters. It's our focus for (the quarterfinals)."
In the other Elite Eight matchups, Germany takes on Spain, Canada draws the Netherlands, and Great Britain tips off against Australia.
Para swimming
A busy day in the pool sees four of Team USA's para swimming medalists back in action.
Christie Raleigh Crossley kicks things off in the women's 100m backstroke S9, attempting to add more hardware to a 50m freestyle S10 silver won earlier in Paris. That's followed by Ellie Marks in the women's 50m butterfly S6. Marks already has three silvers to her name from the 2024 Games.
Gold medalist Olivia Chambers and silver medalist Grace Nuhfer round things out in the women's 200m IM SM13.
