Here's what you should know from the fourth day of competition at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games:

• Team USA qualified for the quarterfinals of the men's wheelchair basketball tournament, winning Group B with a perfect 3-0 record after defeating Australia.
• In his debut Paralympics, American archer and Army veteran Jason Tabansky fired his way to gold in the men's W1 competition.
• 12 years after winning his sole Paralympic medal (silver) at the 2012 London Games, American archer Matt Stutzman won gold in the men’s individual compound open with a Paralympic record. 
• The U.S. men's goalball team defeated Iran, 14-7, to wrap up pool play and secure a spot in the quarterfinals.
• Para track and field athletes Susannah Scaroni (women's 800m T54), Brian Siemann (men's 400m T53), and Daniel Romanchuk (men's 400m T54) all claimed bronze medals to add to the U.S. medal tally.
• Roderick Townsend fell short of breaking a world record, but still won his third consecutive gold medal in the high jump T47.  
• The U.S. wheelchair rugby team is headed to the gold medal match after beating Great Britain 50-43 in the semifinals. 

A little over 60 days ago, U.S. archer Jason Tabansky punched a ticket to his first Paralympic Games after an injury to Australia’s Chris Davis opened up a spot. In the W1 men’s individual final, Tabansky — a U.S. Army veteran — made the most of the opportunity, defeating China’s Han Guifei 134-131.

Twelve years after winning his sole Paralympic medal (silver) at the 2012 London Games, U.S. archer Matt Stutzman won gold in the men’s individual compound open with a Paralympic record over China’s Al Xinliang 149-147.

Stutzman’s day started with an impressive shootout against Finland’s Jere Forsberg with a perfect bullseye to advance to the quarterfinal. In the quarterfinal Stutzman got a victory over Nathan MacQueen to advance to the semifinal 143-142. In the semifinal, Stutzman squared off with the defending gold medalist He Zihao, where a 10 from Stutzman sent the match into a shootout. Stutzman delivered another 10 to lock in his spot in the gold medal match.

Stutzman has been vocal about his goal of winning gold and the possibility of Paris being his final Paralympic Games.

American star Roderick Townsend cleared a height of 2.12 meters to win his third conseutive gold medal in the men's high jump T47. India's Nishad Kumar took silver, and Georgii Margiev, competing as a Neutral Paralympic Athlete, earned bronze.

After locking up the win, Townsend tried to clear 2.17 meters in an attempt to break his own world record but missed on three consecutive jumps.

Townsend will also compete in the long jump T47 final scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 3.

The United States and Japan will face off in the gold medal match for wheelchair rugby after the U.S. topped Great Britain 50-43 in the final semifinal match. 

The U.S. has won a medal at every Paralympics since wheelchair rugby first debuted as a demonstration sport in 1996, but is looking to return to the top of the podium for the first time since 2008.

The wheelchair rugby gold medal game will take place on Sept 2. at 1:30 p.m. ET.

The United States men's wheelchair rugby team capped off a perfect 3-for-3 record in pool play with a 76-69 win over Australia.

Jake Williams led the way for the Americans with 24 points, all scored in the first half. Williams was lethal from three-point range, shooting 60% from beyond the arc.

With the win, the U.S. secured the top rank in Group B, setting the two-time defending gold medalists up to be heavily favored in Tuesday's quarterfinal round. The Americans will face the bottom team in Group A, likely to be host nation France.
