According to the French Open, Rafael Nadal holds the record for longest single-surface win streak in ATP history, with 81 wins on clay between April 2005 and May 2007.

Rafael Nadal played in two Olympic Games: Beijing in 2008 and Rio in 2016. He missed London (2012) and Tokyo (2020) due to injury. He served as Spain's flag bearer in Rio in 2016.

One of the most recognizable rivalries in men's tennis, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have faced each other a record 59 times. Djokovic leads the race 30-29, though the King of Clay leads 20-8 on the dusty red surface. However, Djokovic has bested Nadal eight times on clay, the most of any player. At the French Open, Nadal's specialty, Nadal leads the duo, 8-2.

Their most highly-contested match — and one that's widely regarded as the best clay contest of all time — was their 2013 French Open semifinal, which Djokovic led 4-2 in the sixth set before Nadal came back to win the set 9-7.
