When to watch rowing during the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games

Para rowing events will be held from Friday, August 30 to Sunday, September 1 at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.

Rowers will compete in five events at the Paralympics against other athletes in their same impairment class, as defined by the Paralympic system of classification. The full list of classifications can be found below.

Three of the rowing events are mixed team events – PR2 and PR3 double sculls as well as the PR3 coxed four. Individual men’s and women’s single sculls competitions will also be held in Paris.

Venue

The Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium will host rowing competitions during the 2024 Paris Paralympics. Opened in 2019, the Nautical Stadium was the first new facility to be completed in preparation for Paris 2024.

Para rowing athletes to watch on Team USA

Mixed PR3 Double Sculls 2000m (two athletes with either vision impairment or residual leg function allowing them to slide the seat): It’s a wide-open race with France, Australia, and Great Britain all expected to field competitive boats. The Americans will also be in the mix with

Portland, Oregon native, Todd Vogt, will be an American to watch in the mixed PR3 double sculls 2000m, which features two athletes with either vision impairment or residual leg function allowing them to slide the seat. Vogt, who was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s disease in 2018, formed a crucial part of the team that claimed silver at 2023 Worlds. He will be joined by Saige Harper, who hails from Easthampton, Massachusetts.

Skylar Dahl, Alex Flynn, Ben Washburne, Gemma Wollenschlaeger and Emelie Eldracher are all making their Paralympic debuts in Paris, along with Vogt and Harper. They are expected to contend for a medal in the coxed four PR3 mixed 4+ 2000m, which includes four athletes with either vision impairment or residual leg function allowing them to slide the seat.
