Carlos Yulo has done it again.
Just one day after winning an historic gold medal for the Philippines on the floor exercise, Yulo picked up a second gold medal on the vault (15.116), topping Artur Davtyan (14.966) - the first-ever Olympic medal for Armenia in gymnastics - and Great Britain's Harry Hepworth (14.949).
Yulo is the only man in Philippines Olympic history to win one gold medal, let alone two.
As a result, Yulo's life is destined to change. In fact, it already has.
Yulo has already been awarded thousands of dollars, a fully-furnished two-bedroom condo, a free house, and a lifetime of free ramen - among other rewards.
After the competition, Yulo said he was still riding the high from the night before and didn't get much sleep. He woke up this morning feeling tired and didn't have high expectations for himself.
"I was just hoping to perform well. I didn't really expect a medal," Yulo said. "It really felt like a bonus for me. It's crazy, because last night I couldn't sleep. I was so hyped because I had won that gold medal (on floor).
Yulo said he slept on the bus and again before going into the competition arena.
"I kind of like napping for like 15 to 20 minutes," Yulo said. "I felt good after that and I just went for it."
The nap must have worked because he's now leaving Paris with two Olympic medals - both of them gold.
"I'm grateful for the people who truly believed in me through the ups and downs," Yulo said. "This one is the sweetest, I think."
