Sha'Carri Richardson is officially headed to her first Olympics.
The reigning world champion dominated the women's 100m final at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials on Saturday night in Eugene, Oregon. Richardson won with a world's best time of 10.71 seconds to clinch her spot.
Richardson's two training partners — Melissa Jefferson and Twanisha Terry — finished second and third, respectively, at 10.80 and 10.89, to join Richardson on the Olympic squad.
Earlier in the night, Richardson breezed through her 100m semifinal, winning in 10.86 seconds to secure her spot in the final.
On Friday night, in her debut race of Trials, Richardson stumbled out of the blocks in her heat after tripping on an untied shoelace. But she incredibly steadied herself in time to power to the finish and win the heat in 10.88 seconds.
For the 24-year-old Richardson, this is her first time making an Olympic team. In 2021, she qualified for the Tokyo Olympics at the 2021 Trials but was disqualified from the Olympic team when a sample revealed that she had tested positive for cannabis use.
Richardson will next looks to add Olympic medalist to a stacked résumé that already includes two world gold medals and a world bronze.
"I'm ready mentally, physically, and emotionally," Richardson told NBC Sports' Lewis Johnson last summer. "And I'm here to stay. I'm not back, I'm better."
The dynamic Team USA star will now carry that energy to the Paris Olympics.
