Shooting has had a presence at the Olympic Games since the first modern Games in Athens in 1896, where five events were held. In Paris, the shooting program will include 15 events. The competition starts on Day 1, Saturday, July 27 and will conclude on Monday, Aug. 5.

Two temporary competition halls and one outdoor facility at the Terrain des Essences in La Courneuve, a commune north of Paris, will serve as the shooting ranges for the 2024 Paris Olympics. After the Games, the structures will be removed leaving behind a recreational green space open to the public.

Vincent Hancock will look to make Olympic history for the U.S. by becoming one of six Americans with four or more gold medals in the sport if he wins gold this summer. Hancock will be 35 when the Games begin and has already won gold in men's skeet at the Beijing, London and Tokyo Games. Now with mixed team skeet making its debut in Paris, he could have two more chances to add to his collection.
