Tennis player and two-time Olympic men's champion Andy Murray has logged over 20 matches across five Olympic Games throughout his legendary career. Needless to say, he deserves a break.
Murray's break finally came on Thursday, when he and doubles partner Dan Evans suffered a quarterfinal loss at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games tennis tournament. They fell to Americans Tommy Paul and Taylor Fritz, 6-2, 6-4, in the quarterfinal. The loss at Roland-Garros marked the end of Murray's professional tennis career.
Donut worry about him — he's enjoying the sweetness of retired life.
The three-time Grand Slam champion has been enjoying his time off the court, catching all the Paris Games action.
In the days since his Olympic run ended, Murray has watched Olympic gymnastics, swimming and field hockey.
Murray attended the women's gymnastics vault finals on Saturday, and was recorded enjoying a donut as he sat in the stands.
His mother, Judy Murray, retweeted the shot of Murray and poked fun at her son, "When you can finally eat whatever you want."
At some point pre or post donut, Murray snapped a selfie with tennis legend Billie Jean King. King has also been enjoying the Paris festivities, and connected with Snoop Dogg at Roland-Garros.
Murray's also been collecting and swapping Olympic pins, and as of this week has already collected 75.
While he may never attend the Olympic Games again as an athlete, he will always be a welcome and wonderful ambassador for tennis and the sporting community.
