Located 16 miles southwest of the Olympic Village in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Yokohama Baseball Stadium will host the majority of baseball and softball games at the Tokyo Olympics, including both gold medal games. The 30,000-seat stadium (expanded to 35,000 for the Olympics) is the home ballpark for the Yokohama DeNA Baystars of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). Opened in 1978, Yokohama Baseball Stadium is hitter’s park, measuring just 387 ft to deep center field and 308 ft to both foul poles. 

A total of seven games across the baseball and softball competitions – including the very first event of the Tokyo Olympics, a softball opener on July 22 – will take place at Fukushima Azuma Baseball Stadium in Fukushima, Japan. The stadium is located 42 miles northwest of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, the site of a nuclear accident resulting from the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. Fukushima Azuma Baseball Stadium was added to the list of venues for the 2020 Olympics in March of 2017, with Tokyo 2020 President Yoshiro Mori announcing, “By hosting Olympic baseball and softball events, Fukushima will have a great platform to show the world the extent of its recovery in the 10 years since the disaster.” The venue will have a capacity of 14,300 for the Games.
