Where is handball being played at the Paris Olympics?
The handball tournaments will be held at South Paris Arena 6 and Pierre Mauroy Stadium.
Pierre Mauroy Stadium, located in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, roughly an hour outside Paris, will host the knockout rounds of the tournaments. Built in 2012, the stadium is home to Lille OSC, a French soccer team in Ligue 1. Pierre Mauroy Stadium has hosted international competitions for several sports over the years, including the 2016 men’s European Championship, the European Basketball Championship in 2015 and the World Handball Championship in 2017.
The stadium will also host group stage games for the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.
Group stage matches for both the men's and women's tournament will be played in South Paris Arena 6. The arena is part of the Paris Expo, a major hub for the Olympics. Originally built in 1923, the Paris Expo has been developed extensively over the years and welcomes approximately 7.5 million visitors each year.
In addition to handball, the arenas at the Paris Expo will also host table tennis, volleyball and weightlifting during the games, as well as multiple events for the Paralympics.

Pierre Mauroy Stadium will have a capacity of 27,000 spectators, while South Paris Arena 6 will have a capacity of 7,300 to 7,800 for handball.
