The 2022 Paralympic Winter Games will run from March 4-13, and each day, NBCOlympics.com will provide a rundown of what to watch in every sport. In arguably her strongest Paralympic event, defending gold medalist and three-time reigning world champion Oksana Masters of the U.S. will compete in the three-stage sprint sitting event for her fourth medal in four events. The 32-year-old won silver in Saturday's 15km behind China's Yang Hongqiong, and has a gold and silver in biathlon. Skiers will look to make it through qualifying and semifinal rounds in order to reach the final, where medalists will be decided.

Masters' compatriot Dan Cnossen, 41, leads the U.S. contingent on the men's side of the sprint sitting class. The Kansas native and former U.S. Navy SEAL placed sixth in the 18km on Saturday. He's had success in the sprint before – he took bronze at the 2018 PyeongChang Games, then took home silver from the 2019 World Championships. Kendall Gretsch and Masters' boyfriend Aaron Pike, the two world sprint sitting bronze medalists from 2019, are also expected to start.

Americans Jake Adicoff and Sydney Peterson, Sunday's respective silver medalists in the 20km and 15km long-distance classical vision impaired and standing events, have good chances to make a second podium. Both also won silver in those events at January's world championships; however, those race techniques were classical, whereas Wednesday's are in freestyle. Adicoff, an Idahoer who's guided by Sam Wood, just missed the 2018 PyeongChang sprint vision impaired podium in fourth.

With the United States and Canada already through to the semifinal round of the Paralympic sled hockey tournament, Wednesday's pair of games will determine which two teams will round out the final four. First, Group A third place team South Korea takes on Italy, the third place finisher in Group B, with the winner advancing to face Canada.

That's followed by undefeated Group B winners China against Group B runners-up, Czech Republic. The two teams previously met in the preliminary round with China taking the victory, 5-2. Both nations have sights set on the medal rounds where each could earn its first sled hockey Paralympic medal. The three-time defending Paralympic champions United States await the winner.

It's now or never for the U.S. wheelchair curling team after a 2-4 start to round robin play. The Americans sit in a three-way tie for eighth place with four games to go and significant ground to make up in order to get into position for a semifinal berth. They'll take the to the ice twice on Wednesday, first against Switzerland, which has won just once through seven games in Beijing. Later, the Matthew Thums-skipped U.S. squad will take on Latvia, which is currently tied for the final top-four spot.

Consistency will be key for the Americans who have had an up-and-down stretch in recent games. On Monday they took down one of the tournament's favorites in Norway, before suffering a heavy defeat, 10-2, to China on Tuesday.
