For the first time in history, three U.S. Olympic all-around champions will go head-to-head in the same competition. 

Olympic all-around champion in 2012, Gabby Douglas, 2016 Olympic all-around champion Simone Biles and 2020 Olympic all-around champion Suni Lee are all registered to compete at the 2024 Core Hydration Classic in Hartford, Connecticut, which will air live on CNBC and Peacock on May 18 from 7-9 p.m. ET. The competition will also stream on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app for CNBC subscribers.

The Core Hydration Classic is the final opportunity to qualify for the 2024 Xfinity U.S. Championships on May 30 - June 2 in Fort Worth, Texas. Following the championships, the U.S. national team roster will be named, with those athletes advancing to the U.S. Olympic Team Trials on July 27 - 30 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 

It all starts in Hartford, which could see the most decorated women’s field ever assembled.

The entry list for the 2024 Core Hydration Classic is stacked with talent and is headlined by athletes who have won a combined 75 world and Olympic medals. 

Biles, who will make her season debut at the competition, owns 37 of those medals.  At last year’s Classic, she won the all-around in her first competition since the Tokyo Games. She went on to win her eighth U.S. national title and sixth world all-around title later that year. 

The three-time Olympic gold medalist Douglas returned to competition at the American Classic on April 27, her first meet since the 2016 Rio Games. Douglas performed best on vault (second place) and beam (tied for fifth) against a field that did not include most of the contenders vying for a spot on the Paris Olympic team.

Douglas, along with Lee, the reigning Olympic all-around champion, have already qualified to the U.S. Championships in select events but need to post an all-around score of 51.00 or higher in Hartford to be able to compete in all four events in Fort Worth. 

The star-studded entry list doesn’t end there. Six-time world medalist Shilese Jones will make her season debut after winning a team gold and two bronze medals (all-around and uneven bars) at the world championships last year. Jade Carey had a successful competition at the American Classic, winning all-around, vault and floor titles, so she'll be looking to build off that performance.

Other names to watch include Olympic team silver medalist Jordan Chiles, who makes her season debut after withdrawing from the Winter Cup earlier this year with a shoulder injury, along with 2023 world team champions Leanne Wong, who finished second all-around at the world championships in 2021, Joscelyn Roberson and Skye Blakely. World all-around bronze medalist in 2021, Kayla DiCello, will look to make a statement as well after winning the all-around title at the Winter Cup at the start of the year. 

U.S. champion in 2022, Konnor McClain, is also expected to make her return to elite competition, fresh off helping Louisiana State University win its first-ever NCAA team championship. McClain has not competed at the elite level since winning the U.S. national title in 2022. The Classic will serve as her one and only opportunity to advance to the U.S. Championships and keep her Olympic hopes alive. 

The 2024 Core Hydration Classic is a two-day event with the junior and hopes competitions set for Friday, May 17. There are two sessions for the senior women on Saturday, May 18. Session 2 features any athletes who have been a world or Olympic team member. See the full competition schedule below.
