What to know about trampoline at the 2024 Paris Olympics

Trampoline at the 2024 Paris Olympics promises high-flying excitement as the worlds best trampolinists come together to fight for Olympic hardware. Competitors will execute a series of flips and twists, aiming for precision and height, and will be judged on their execution, difficulty and control.

The United States will have two athletes competing in Paris. On the men's side, Tokyo Olympian Aliaksei Shostak punched a ticket to his second Games after winning the individual trampoline competition at the USA Gymnastics Championships. Shostak will be joined by Jessica Stevens, who will make her Olympic debut in Paris. Stevens secured the U.S. quota spot at the 2023 Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships where she became the first American to win an individual trampoline medal since 1974.

Two-time Olympic medalist and two-time individual world champion (2021 and 2023), Bryony Page, of Great Britain will be one to watch in Paris. With a silver medal in Rio and a bronze in Tokyo, there’s one medal Page is missing and that’s Olympic gold. At the most recent world championships, Page upset Tokyo Olympic champion Zhu Xueying of China, setting the stage for a fierce battle in Paris. Two-time individual world champion (2019 and 2022) Hikaru Mori of Japan will be looking for redemption in Paris after failing to qualify for the Olympic final in Tokyo.

On the men's side, Yan Langyu of China has emerged as a strong medal contender since Tokyo, winning gold in the individual event at the world championships in 2021 and once again in 2023. In Paris, he'll be looking to win his first Olympic medal. Defending Olympic champion Ivan Litvinovich has qualified to Paris as an Individual Neutral Athlete after winning bronze at the Baku and Cottbus World Cups in the spring of 2024. If Litvinovich doesn’t win in Paris, it will mark the first Games since 2012 when a non-Belarusian athlete won the men’s competition.
