Wrestling will start on Monday, August 5 and conclude on Sunday, August 11. There will be live coverage of wrestling events on the following dates:

• Women's freestyle: Monday, August 5 - Sunday, August 11
• Greco-Roman: Monday, August 5 - Thursday, August 8
• Men's freestyle: Thursday, August 8 - Sunday, August 11

Wrestling at the Olympics is broken into three categories: Greco-Roman, men's freestyle and women's freestyle. Within each category, there are six different weight classes for which tournaments will be held.

Three years ago at the Tokyo Games, the United States led the overall medal count with nine total medals. The U.S. is bringing a team of 16 wrestlers — the most of any nation — to Paris, so expectations will be high once again. The U.S. wrestling roster includes established Olympic veterans such as Helen Maroulis and Kyle Snyder, as well as exciting newcomers like Amit Elor, Kennedy Blades, Spencer Lee, Aaron Brooks and Mason Parris.

In Greco-Roman wrestling, Cuba's Mijain Lopez, the four-time reigning champion of the super heavyweight division, has a shot at making Olympic history. At 41 years old, he could become the first athlete ever to win gold medals in the same individual event at five consecutive Olympic Games, as well as the first wrestler to win five Olympic gold medals.
