At just 20 years old, Coco Gauff already has a stacked résumé that many budding tennis players might envy.

Here's a look into how the young tennis pro ended up where she is today.

The Paris Games will be Coco Gauff's Olympic debut. 

Gauff was set to play her first Olympics in Tokyo in 2020, but just a few days before the tournament, tested positive for COVID-19 and ultimately had to drop out.

Coco Gauff turned pro in May 2018, when she made her professional debut at an ITF tournament in Florida. 

Prior to going pro, Gauff had an impressive junior career. Gauff became the youngest girls' singles finalist in U.S. Open junior history when she clinched the spot at age 13. As a former junior world No. 1, Gauff won the 2018 French Open girls' title and 2018 U.S. Open doubles title

Coco Gauff was just 15 years old when she beat Venus Williams, one of her tennis idols, in her Wimbledon debut.

Coco Gauff won the U.S. Open in 2023 at age 19, becoming the youngest woman in history to win the U.S. Open. 

In January, she advanced to her first semifinal at the Australian Open, and in 2022 made it to the final at the French Open.

In September, Coco Gauff beat Belarusian player Aryna Sabalenka for the 2023 U.S. Open title.

Coco Gauff is ranked No. 2 in the world, one spot behind 23-year-old Iga Swiatek of Poland.

Coco Gauff has won seven career singles titles and nine career doubles titles.

Her most recent singles victories include the 2023 U.S. Open, and her most recent doubles victory was the 2024 French Open with partner Katerina Siniakova.

According to the WTA, Coco Gauff has earned almost $15 million in prize money.
