Six American boxers have earned a trip to this summer's Tokyo Olympics.
This year, boxers qualified for the Olympics via world rankings. Under normal circumstances, Team USA's boxing roster would have been decided through the Pan American Boxing Olympic Qualification Tournament, but that tournament, scheduled to be held from May 6 to 13, was cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
As a result, Rashida Ellis (60 kg, lightweight), Virginia "Ginny" Fuchs (51 kg, flyweight), Naomi Graham (75 kg, middleweight), Delante Johnson (69 kg, welterweight), Oshae Jones (69 kg, welterweight) and Richard Torrez Jr. (91+ kg, super heavyweight) have all achieved sufficient rankings to make the trip to Japan.
All six boxers will be making their Olympic debut in Tokyo.
