Simone Biles returns on floor and beam for the last day of gymnastics, 3x3 basketball checks out with medal matches, and surfing finals from Tahiti may finally take place.
In track and field, American discus thrower Valarie Allman and Louisiana-born pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis attempt to defend their titles, while Great Britain's Keely Hodgkinson and Kenyan Faith Kipyegon aim to dominate the women's 800m and 5000m finals.
Below, a full breakdown of the top events and athletes to watch on Day 10.
Gymnastics
We are ready for it.
Simone Biles, already a three-time Paris gold medalist, competes for two more on floor exercise and balance beam on gymnastics' final day.
On floor, she's the clear favorite, possessing a French-choreographed routine that's difficulty level is very high; 7.0-plus with clean hits. It features a Biles II triple double on the first pass and a Biles I double layout with half twist on the third.
Reigning world silver medalist Rebeca Andrade of Brazil, runner-up to Biles in the Paris all-around, will challenge, as will Biles' teammate Jordan Chiles, the 2022 world silver medalist. Defending gold medalist Jade Carey missed qualifying.
It's a different story for Biles on beam because she doesn't have the highest difficulty score. China's 2023 world silver medalist Zhou Yaqin will be tough to beat, and so will compatriot Suni Lee, who has scored higher than Biles a few times this season. That said, Biles has won bronze at the last two Olympics, and in qualification ranked second to Zhou by only 0.133 points. Any medal would make Biles the first gymnast to ever win three on beam.
In men's parallel bars, Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Zou Jingyuan is the favorite after topping qualifications, and could become the second gymnast to ever repeat on the event. Men's high bar is wide open after defending gold medalist and reigning world champion Daiki Hashimoto of Japan missed qualifying. "King of Cats" Tang Chia-Hung of Chinese Taipei ranked second in qualifying behind Paris all-around silver medalist Zhang Boheng of China.

Track and Field
Day 5 of track and field features two field finals in women's discus and men's pole vault, and two on the track in the women's 800m and 5000m.
Team USA's Valarie Allman will attempt to defend her discus title, repeating what Croatian Sandra Elkasevic (nee Perkovic) accomplished before her at the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Games. The Hershey, Pa., native on Friday threw the farthest qualifying mark (69.59m) by about 13 feet, trailed by Elkasevic (65.63m) and 2022 world champion Feng Bin of China (65.40m).
Armand "Mondo" Duplantis of Sweden is the defending gold medalist, two-time reigning world champion and world record-holder in men's pole vault. A Louisiana native who attended LSU with Sha'Carri Richardson, Duplantis owns the top eight marks of all time. American Sam Kendricks, who missed Tokyo after testing positive for COVID-19, earned world silver behind Duplantis in March. Teammate and Tokyo silver medalist Chris Nilsen missed Monday's final.
With no Athing Mu, who fell at U.S. Trials, it's the Keely Hodgkinson Show in the women's 800m. The Tokyo silver medalist from Great Britain clocked a blistering 1:56.86 in Sunday's semifinals, faster than all finalists' personal bests sans one.
Faith Kipyegon is a decent favorite in the women's 5000m. The two-time reigning gold medalist in the 1500m broke three world records last year in a span of two months. Ethiopia's Gudaf Tsegay broke the 5000m record again later in the year. Kipyegon will be challenged by the event's defending Olympic champion Sifan Hassan of the Netherlands, who she out-kicked at 2023 Worlds.
Also competing: newly crowned 100m gold medalist Noah Lyles in the men's 200m heats, and Gabby Thomas in the women's 200m semifinals.

Surfing
After several postponements, surfing may finally conclude — weather dependent — on Day 10 of the Olympics with the semifinals and the medal matches for both men and women.
U.S. surfers have been strong this season on the WSL Championship Tour, but only Caroline Marks is left in either the men's or women's field. She'll match up with France's Johanne Defay in the first women's semifinal. Brazil's Tatiana Weston-Webb and Costa Rica's Brisa Hennessy are set to face off in another star-studded semifinal.
On the men's side, Brazil's Gabriel Medina — who produced a viral photo last week — looks to keep his momentum rolling toward a gold medal, but the road won't by easy. He's up against Australia's Jack Robinson in the semifinals and could potentially see Tahiti native Kauli Vaast in the final.

3x3 Basketball
The 3x3 basketball tournaments come to a close with semifinals and medal games.
The U.S. women's team faces Spain in its semifinal. The Americans are the only ones remaining that competed in Tokyo, where they won gold.
Their counterpart U.S. men's team did not make the knockout round. Tokyo gold medalist Latvia, taking on France, is the only 3x3 basketball team — men's or women's — that finished pool play 7-0.

Shooting
Mixed team skeet's Olympic debut is the United States' to lose.
American training partners Austen Smith and Vincent Hancock are not just the reigning world champions, but also the field's only pairing with two athletes who've already won medals in Paris — Smith bronze, Vincent gold in the individual events. There's one other team with a single medalist and it's the American B team: Conner Prince, who took bronze in the men's individual, paired with Dania Vizzi, individual runner-up at 2023 Worlds.
The men's rapid fire pistol final features China's Li Yuehong, bronze medalist at the last two Olympics.
