The beach volleyball pairings representing the United States at the Tokyo Olympics are set after the final Olympic qualifying tournament in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
On the women's side, April Ross and Alix Klineman are expected to be one of the top duos competing at the Games. They are currently the No. 2 ranked pairing in the world behind only Canada's Sarah Pavan and Melissa Humana-Paredes.
Shockingly, U.S. beach volleyball legend Kerri Walsh Jennings and her partner Brooke Sweat failed to qualify for the Olympics. This will be Walsh Jennings' first time missing the Olympics since making her debut in 2000. Taking their place will be Sarah Sponcil and Kelly Claes, who are set to become the youngest beach volleyball team in U.S. Olympic history.
As for the men, Jake Gibb, 45, is set to become the oldest beach volleyball player to ever compete at the Olympics. Joined by Taylor Crabb, who is 16 years his junior, the pairing will look to be the first U.S. men's team to medal since 2008.
Phil Dalhausser was one half of that gold medal-winning duo at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, and he'll be looking to make another run at the title this summer with teammate Nick Lucena. Dalhausser and Lucena competed together at the Rio Games in 2016, but were eliminated in the quarterfinals against Brazil's Alison Cerutti and Bruno Oscar Schmidt.
