The 2024 Paris Paralympics wrap up on Sunday, Sept. 8 with two final powerlifting events, which start at 8 a.m. ET and will end around 11 a.m. ET.

Just like the Opening Ceremony, the organizing committee for the Closing Ceremony has kept the exact details of the event under wraps. The grand finale of the 2024 Games is expected to including multiple artists and dancers, and be a party atmosphere in the Stade de France.

Thomas Jolly, the artistic director of the Olympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies, is also overseeing the Paralympic Closing Ceremony.

The Closing Ceremony will take place at France's national stadium, the Stade de France, which will be converted to a concert hall for the ceremony. 

The arena, the largest in the country, hosted the track and field events during the Paralympics. It's also the home to France's national soccer and rugby union teams.

Similar to an Opening Ceremony, a Paralympic Closing Ceremony often includes an introduction of the head of state, the playing of the host country's national anthem, and an athlete parade.

In addition, the Closing Ceremony will feature the lowering of the Paralympic flag, the extinguishing of the flame, and victory celebrations for the medalists. Finally, a portion of the Closing Ceremony will be dedicated to the host city handover from Paris to Los Angeles.

The Closing Ceremony is expected to last for approximately two hours.

The U.S. flagbearers for the Closing Ceremony of the 2024 Paris Paralympics have yet to be announced.

Milan, Italy, is set to host the 2026 Winter Paralympics. The next Summer Paralympics will take place in Los Angeles, California in 2028.
