The oldest type of skiing, cross-country skiing, will return for another Games at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Paralympics. Athletes compete in sprints of difference lengths, or participate in a team relay using one of two skiing techniques (Classic and Freestyle/Skating). In para cross-country skiing, competitors may use a sit-ski, a chair equipped with a pair of skis, or may use a sighted guide if they have a visual impairment.

Para cross-country skiing will be contested at cross country and biathlon center Fabio Canal. The venue is in the municipality of Tesero, in northern Italy. The center has hosted the Tour de Ski, FIS Nordic World Skiing Championships and will also host the cross-country skiing and Nordic combined events for the 2026 Olympics. 

There will be 20 para cross-country skiing events at the 2026 Milan Cortina Games, with nine men’s, nine women’s and two mixed gender events.
